Support with Life Skills

Personal skills

A key element of the support we provide residents is to help with general skills to get on.

For example, we will help with guidance on completing job application forms and cover communication and interview skills to increase their chances of success. We will also work with young people to help them understand general workplace ethics and expectations. In addition, there will be support to promote independence so young people can travel alone on public transport, for example.

Practical living skills

The importance of managing a household cannot be underestimated in the journey to independent living.

Residents will be helped to become competent in a number of essential household skills including basic cookery tips, understanding the importance of cleaning and the products needed to ensure cleanliness.

We will also look at other general essentials to ensure the home remains safe and minor DIY maintenance can be undertaken such as changing a plug.
